July 6-9, 2023. It was great to be back among “my people” in New York City after missing the first post-pandemic in-person conference (Chicago, 2022) due to illness.

Bonus: we [Dave the Travel Pig and I] “met” the inventor of the Pap smear.

Special thanks to the organizers, and also to my presentation co-author John Noel M. Viaña – we put together a talk on the health of Beauty Queens and Drag Queens that was very well-received. We plan to write it up as an actual journal article – hopefully soon! We even made the PAMA post-symposium highlight reel 🙂

Another journal article also in the works with Drs. Filomar Tariao and Lielanie Mae Aguilar-Pascasio – we had partial results presented as a poster at the symposium.

All in all, it was a wonderful time reconnecting with old colleagues and networking with new ones. Looking forward to the next meeting: London in 2024!
